Dolphins 3 7 0 13 23

The Atlanta Falcons, once again, threw away the game in the fourth quarter against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night after a 99 yard pass from David Fales to Damore’ea Stringfellow (Andrew Franks Kick) with 8 minutes and change left on the clock. Miami lead Atlanta in total yards at 318 v.s. 279 despite Atlanta being able to hold the ball for over 10 minutes longer. The Atlanta Falcons also lead The Miami Dolphins in first down conversions, 17 v.s. 12.

While looking at the game it was pretty easy to see that Miami was out-played pretty much the entire game. The Miami Dolphins ability to stick in there and a little luck helped them take a victory for their first pre-season game v.s. last year’s Division Champs and Super Bowl contenders, The Atlanta Falcons. Some will take this win as a major sign that the Miami Dolphins are ready to take their ball club to the next level and become Champions themselves one day. Others will call this win a fluke, waiting for the Dolphins to prove them selves on the field during regulation games. No matter which way you see it, this game is a win in the Dolphins column, and the Atlanta Falcons have to do a lot of soul searching to answer the question of why they always lose the majority of their games in the 4th quarter. Maybe the Falcons lose focus? Maybe the celebrate too early? Whatever the take, the Falcons need to fix and address the issue, especially if they look to make Super Bowl LII.
